YAC Open Cross Country — Stoke Park, Sun 8th Feb 2026
Young Athletes Club hosted its first ever Open Cross Country at Stoke Park on Sunday 8th February 2026. Over 200 entries were received and 173 athletes took part on the day — some racing cross country for the very first time. By some miracle the weather stayed dry. While parts of the course were wet and muddy, most of it across the grass playing fields of Stoke Park was perfect for cross country and made for easy viewing for parents and spectators.
The large finish archway gave the event a professional feel, with results available immediately so medal presentations could take place after each race. Thank you to Krono Sports for efficient results. Feedback from athletes and parents was fantastic — they want to come back next year!

Downs League Cross Country 2025/26 — Epsom Downs
YAC athletes raced in 3 of the 4 races that make up the Downs League this year — our very first season in this popular series. Our runners performed brilliantly all season against many of the best athletes in Surrey.
Notable performances from the final match include Matilda Keating and Orla Palmer finishing 16th and 21st in U11 Girls, and Hugo Ferris and Josh Welch 22nd and 24th in U11 Boys.

Surrey Sportshall — Boys Gold, Girls Silver · Sat 17th Jan 2026
Another hugely successful Sportshall season for Young Athletes Club. Ten teams from 8 Surrey clubs took part at Spectrum. The event offers athletes the chance to win medals and be selected for Surrey Trials — and YAC delivered brilliantly in 8 track events and 9 field events.

🏆 Surrey U11 Inter-Counties — Both Teams Win GOLD!
Seven YAC athletes were selected for the Surrey U11 team to compete at South East Inter-Counties. Both Surrey Girls and Boys won Gold!

Virginia at European Indoor Championships — Torun, Poland · 26th March
YAC head coach Virginia Mitchell, supported by husband Tony, will compete for GB Masters at the European Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland. Virginia is the reigning European 400m Champion outdoors and is aiming to win the indoor title as well. Go Vi! 🇬🇧
