Surrey Quadkids Championships
Weds 3rd July 2024 at Guildford Spectrum
Our athletes performed beyond expectation and we had several championship best performances.
Young Athletes Club hosted the Surrey Teams Competition with 9 other clubs taking part.
Each club has a team of 10 selected athletes in years 5 and 6. Plus competing reserves.
Each athlete competes in 4 events: 75m sprint, 600m run, standing long jump and vortex throw
plus a team relay aiming to win medals and the trophy.
Times and distances equate to points on the Quadkids points table.
There were some outstanding results, lots of personal bests and even several Championship Best performances.

Thomas Kennerley
1st Boy overall and with 306 points the top score of any athlete ever in this competition!!

4th Boy overall with 263 points and Championship Best performance in 600m with a time of 1.44 mins for 87 points

Vortex throw 50m for 100 points – the top vortex ever and championship best performance!

Esme Wilkinson
1st Girl overall with 239 points with a Standing long jump of 2.08m for 63 points and Vortex 30m for 60 points

Ollie Newton
2nd Boy overall with 273 points, best events 1.51 mins for 600m, 39.6m for vortex both 79 points.

Uzo Elechi
8th Girl overall with 217 points with 2.08m in standing long jump and 63 points
Results
Here are final results after inputs were checked by the scorer.
We respect the fact that Cleves were given gold medals on the night – that still stands.
The scores had to be checked after the event due to discrepancies in the 600m results and the standing long jump.
