Border League Cross Country Results
RACE ORGANISER AND YOUNG ATHLETES CLUB TEAM MANAGER: VIRGINIA MITCHELL
The mild and cloudy conditions were far more favourable this year and the turn-out was impressive from clubs across Surrey and Hampshire.
The organisation went smoothly with a clear, well-laid out course around the playing fields of Stoke Park. We had a wonderful team of middle distance boys from GGAC as hares, the marshals were at key points and all officials performed their duties with smiles on their faces !! The athletes showed great endurance, competitive spirit and determination to run over the quite undulating grass of the park especially with an uphill climb to the finish funnel.
Tony our starter ensured each race started on time, the athletes were cheered on by enthusiastic parents and spectators and Tony rang a cowbell to help the athletes up the last hill.
This was the first race where we are using an APP based system which has been championed by Virginia in order to bring results more quickly and efficiently to the athletes. We hope you enjoy this new results service.
